Introduction

• Eva was born on the 28th October 1927 at 5 Turners Cottages, Ballsbridge, Dublin as the third daughter of Elizabeth Murtagh and Richard Doolin.
• At the age of 4 years, she started school with the sisters of the Holy Faith in Dublin.
• In 1936 the family moved to Malone Gardens
• Throughout the time that the family were in Turners Cottages and Malone Gardens they attended Saint Mary's church in Haddington Road.
• After Eva left school in 1941, at the age of 14, she went to work in a jeweler’s shop in Talbot Street Dublin. Later, she nursed her father through an illness until he died in 1947.
• All her life Eva had wanted to be a nun and in 1950 she entered the convent of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood in Ballinasloe, Galway.
