Introduction

This section of the website looks at my mother's life while she was in England.

• In 1951, Eva was returning to Dublin from the convent in Guildford. On the train journey to Holyhead she met Tony Bootle, who was on leave from the RAF at West Drayton and travelling home to Wigan in Lancashire. As the story goes, they fell in love.
• In February 1952, Eva returned to England to marry Tony.
• Eva and Tony lived in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire where they raised a family of six children.
• Aylesbury was Eva's home for 52 years.
• My mother died in March 2004 and is buried in The Tring Road Cemetery in Aylesbury Bucks. England.
